The Little Green Tent

Verse 1:
Here they come one more time, a long procession in a single line,
to pay respect to someone that they knew.
The last ride for most it seems, is in the back of a black limousine,
to a place of final rest when their life is through.

Chorus:
And the little green tent stood again today.
It tells a sad story, that someone passed away.
Laid to rest in sacred ground, while broken hearts are gathered ‘round,
and tonight another soul is heaven bound.

Verse 2:
Annie was just sixteen, she had plenty of time.
Who would have thought a truck would cross that yellow line.
Oh, the scene there was so sad. They lost the dearest thing they ever had.
A crying mom, and a wailing dad was left behind.

Chorus:
And that little green tent stood again today.
It tells a sad story, that Annie passed away.
Laid to rest in sacred ground, while broken hearts are gathered ‘round,
and tonight another soul is heaven bound.

Bridge:
And as family and friends grieve with each other.
They will stand hand in hand under the cover…

Chorus:
Of a little green tent that stood again today.
It tells a sad story, that someone else has passed away.
Laid to rest in sacred ground, while broken hearts are gathered ‘round,
and tonight another soul is heaven bound.
