Lyrics

All Good Things (Will Come Back Around)

Verse 1:
I may never walk the boards of the Grand Ole Opry stage.
I'll never hear the crowd go wild, or be the latest rage.
I've been told I'm way too country for country radio.
Three chords and the truth don't sell no more, that was thirty years ago.

Daddy showed me chords on his flat top guitar when I was twelve years old.
We'd pick and sing there on the porch, back home in Ohio.
And the songs we played made me know that country music was my first choice.
Somehow it got into the soul, of this old country boy.

Chorus:
You know sometimes, I get to thinkin, I was born a little too late.
But I still hear my daddy sayin, son, all good things will come back around.

Verse 2:
I turned on the radio and much to my surprise.
I heard Hank, singing his song "I'm so lonesome I could cry".
Then George Jones sang "The Race Is On" and Merle sang "Mama Tried".
These were the songs my daddy sang, and they're the songs that will survive.

Chorus:
You know sometimes, I get to thinkin, I was born a little too late.
But I still hear my daddy sayin, son, all good things will come back around.
